Nzu

Nzu (white chalk) is a very useful element in Igbo culture and spiritual purposes. It is also a symbol of mystical powers capable of revealing the spirit world. A symbol is a sign that represents something deeper than the material object associated with it.

This means that Nzu which looks very ordinary in itself and could be thrown away as something with little value, represents both spiritual and material realities.

We need clarity day and night. We need lights on our paths day and night. We don’t have to entertain darkness!

For this is reasons, we have to pray daily using nzu. Do you even know that Nzu is not man made?

NZU are found in the river or in caves around rivers/streams. it possess high spiritual powers.

It symbolizes peace, purity, clarity, justice, equity.

This is why it use it for daily prayer & progressive rituals.

When prayers are made Nzu, Edo, Alligator pepper and Nzu, it can be used together or separately.

It ushers in peace and unity.

It is a symbol of wisdom, purity and clean heart. 

It eliminates anger and disunity.

It is also used to make spirit and humans at peace with you.

It drawing positive energies on your parth.

It also possesses medicinal properties.

Nzu is used as mouth-warmer licked especially by pregnant women to prevent them from vomiting.

It is believed that nzu has some medicinal powers when it is used as body lotion because it soothes and smoothens the body especially if one suffers from prickly heat, chicken-pox or measles etc.
